We are a community-based nonprofit organization with the goal to promote physical fitness, mental toughness and literacy achievements in the youth in Washington-Wilkes, Georgia.
We provide them with the opportunity to develop their skills, build friendships, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Why is our program so important?
Our program is designed to provide kids with a safe and engaging environment where they can develop a love for reading and basketball. With a variety of activities and events, there's always something fun happening at Books and Basketball!

2025 SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM
snapshot of THE FIRST DAY
On the first day of camp at Books and Basketball,
campers will arrive excited and ready to start their summer of fun and learning.
After a brief welcome and orientation, the campers will participate in an icebreaker game called
"Two Truths and a Lie".
In this game, each camper takes turns telling three statements about themselves, two of which are true and one of which is false. The other campers then have to guess which statement is the lie. This game helps the campers get to know each other and break the ice before starting the day's activities. After the icebreaker game, the campers participate in a variety of fun and educational basketball activities.
